Learning to eat properly
Foods provide the energy needed to stay alive. But often, instead of food to nourish our bodies, eat for gluttony or bored.
Like the food we eat have a major impact on our health, the decision about what we eat and in what quantities, is very important. A healthy, balanced diet is essential to fully enjoy our lives.
The role of food
Although foods come in many different ways, they all contain “nutrients” which are substances that perform these functions in our body chemical characteristics: provide the necessary energy to cells and used as raw material for growth, restoration and maintenance of tissues and vital organs.
The seven vital components of food are: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fiber and water. All these components need to be part of our daily diet to achieve optimal health. Many health disorders are caused by not eating a balanced diet, not to plan our daily diet and no exercise or lead a sedentary life.
The feeling of hunger, or satisfaction with the food it serves to ensure that the amount of food ingested adequate to meet the energy needs of each one of us. However, people tend to eat more than they should, which can result in overweight, obesity or an increased risk of developing various chronic diseases.
Eat it right
We must learn to listen to our body, its needs and hunger and satiety signals sent to us so eat right and necessary, in order to nurture and care for them properly.
To meet our nutritional needs is to consume foods from these five main categories:
- Bread, cereals and other grain-based products
- Fruit
- Plant
- Meat, poultry, fish, eggs and other sources of vegetable protein, such as stews, peas, nuts and seeds
- Dairy products
One of the keys to healthy eating is to eat three to five times a day instead of taking just one good meal and some snacks or meals. Never be tempted to skip breakfast, as our body works much better if we provide the food needed with due regularity. People who do not have a rule taking at least three meals a day are more likely to get fat.
Planning for success
We often wonder why it is so difficult to lose or maintain our weight. However, it is simpler than it sounds and often complicate things by habit. If we plan our meals we can improve our daily diet.
You have to plan a balanced diet and do our shopping thinking about this from a grocery list to avoid buying what we need, it is easier to get away from the temptations to buy or not to have certain foods available to promise a thousand times that no longer eat more.
For example, if we want to avoid eating chocolate or candy, we must be prepared and have a healthy substitute, like an apple or a yogurt, which satisfies our appetite.
One of the great advantages of a program like MyDiet ™ is that it helps us understand what is essential to achieve a balanced and healthy diet. It allows us to move away from fad diets “to focus on what our body requires and needs from the nutritional standpoint, and encourages changes to your lifestyle that ensure success and prevent us from entering the cycle of self -I “(diet after diet after diet).
