During the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, approved the resolution of June 14, 1777 indicating the colors of the flag of the United States: thirteen stripes alternating red and white. The union of the states symbolize with 13 white stars on a blue background. There were no indications as to how many points would each star or anything like that.
